Sell-side M&A
Financial and operational pressures mounted on a New England-based family-owned manufacturer of premium meat products after the loss of several key customers. The company had recently invested in automation to improve efficiency, but with revenue declining, cash flow became strained. Facing limited options, the lender sought an exit, and ownership was considering liquidation as a last resort.
Advisors were brought in to help explore strategic alternatives and guide a path forward. Potential solutions were evaluated, including selling the business as a going concern or through a bulk asset sale. Interest developed quickly from multiple parties, and a competitive process was facilitated to assess and enhance offers while operations continued.
The winning proposal came from a consortium of the company’s existing management team and select vendors. The transaction preserved ongoing operations at the existing facility and secured employment for more than 50 individuals, providing the company with stability and a foundation for continued growth.
